Home Security
It is true when we think of home security we think of having secured the doors and windows in our home. However, home security begins with you and the decisions you make about your family and friends.
Responsible Adults
Friends or Family
As we get older our number one priority is finding a secure place to live. You may wonder?
Where is the best place to live if you are over 65?
What should I consider when deciding whether or not to relocate?
These are very good questions. To answer them, it might be best to ask yourself:
Where I live now, do I have responsible family support who can look after me as I get older?
It is true that you may have family that live close but if they are not responsible adults it may be time for you to start thinking about moving away as you get older rather than to stay.
How do you know if they are responsible adults? Ask yourself:
Do they rely on you weekly for financial assistance?
Do you loan them money for gas, food, and medicine all the time?
We are not referring to rendering assistance during an emergency but rather if you are supporting them while they spend their funds on alcohol, cable tv, or other non essentials instead of paying their bills. If this is the case you may want to think about putting some distance between you and them as you get older.
The point is, is that Home Security begins with you. The decisions you make now may determine how life will be for you during the last stages of your life.
